Early Runescape has an amazing community, and if you were to travel through Varrock or Falador You'd observe a variety of people doing various things (or going into world 2 and seeing the places crowded with traders). A lot of people spent their time playing minigames. Today, everyone has broken down their activities into gold/hour and an xp/hour. I began WoW as gearscore was picking up, but before LFG was even introduced (dps meters were already in use). I witnessed the shift in community where you would avoid harmful people to dungeons by simply kick low dps and receiving an instant replacement. It's worse in WoW, in which the "interview process" to join a group is now a matter of simply looking at their equipment and their knowledge. It is now expected to have more than four years of experience before you can be considered for an entry-level position. It's great. I've removed the raid icon line to avoid having to be required to change the macro every time I'm with some tank who marks it square or the like however it's good to have this syntax on hand in the event that I want to include it back in. Thank you so much! This is a common "I have been playing WoW since I was a young child and my mother was still feeding me some gerber mushi" the preface to this blog post. It's much more than WoW. I've played GW2, LOTRO SWTOR, WHO, SWTOR, SWTOR, WHO, as well as any other acronyms related to MMOs. Capital cities were a great place to sit and wait for my group's formation, so I could enjoy myself playing these games.
